Arrival and Dismissal Information

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
IMPORTANT: DO NOT park in the yellow zones in front of each school before or after school. When dropping off your child at school you can pull up into the yellow zone as long as the buses are gone and you quickly drop off your child to walk into the building. We need to keep the flow of traffic moving!

Takena Arrival / Dismissal

Takena Arrival Details
• Students enter the building through the front door.
• Students go directly to the playground or the gym depending on weather.
• Students will eat breakfast in the classroom after the bell rings.
• Front doors are closed/locked at 9:00. Any students arriving after this time will report to the office to sign in. (Ring the bell and someone from the office will unlock the door. Parents and students need to sign-in at the front office.)

Takena Dismissal Details
• Students getting picked up will be released to the appropriate adult out of the teacher’s classroom door.
• Bus riders walk to the bus lines with designated staff.
• Students attending CAP walk to the cafeteria.

Central Arrival / Dismissal

Central Arrival Details
• Students enter the building through the front door.
• Students go directly to the playground or the gym depending on weather.
• Front doors are closed/locked at 8:50. Any students arriving after this time will need to report to the office to sign in. (Ring the bell and someone from the office will unlock the door. Students need to sign-in at the front office.)

Central Dismissal Details
• Students getting picked up are released to the appropriate adult on Ferry St.
• Bus riders walk to the bus lines with designated staff.
• Teachers are available for communication after all students are gone.

After School Plans & Pick Up

Afterschool Plans:
We want to make sure every student gets home safely each day! Please let us know your child’s after school plans. Important: If your kindergartener will be riding the bus, please submit a transportation form request.

Please stop by the office to pick up these forms or contact us for to get them emailed to you.

Change of Plans:

If plans change, please call the office by 2:45 p.m. (or 1:45 p.m. on Wednesdays) so we can notify the classroom in time. Students may not call home to make new arrangements—those must be made by a parent/guardian before school.

Picking up during the school day?

Always check out at the office (please don’t go directly to the classroom).
Be ready to show ID if staff don’t know you.
Only parents/guardians or emergency contacts may pick up a student unless the office is notified in advance.
